If you're not quite sure how to most accurately describe your project, please read through the following information.
Title
The title or working title of your program.
Run Time
Your program's duration. Radio buttons to the right let you specify the runtime in minutes (for narratives, documentaries, promotionals, or series) or seconds (for spots only). For the most accurate estimate, only list the total minutes of content; omit minutes for text-only title and credit sequences.
Production Category
You have three options to choose from, depending on what kind of producer you are and the nature of your program:
- Commercial–The default selection, which includes projects that are intended for commercial broadcast or theatrical release; this includes corporate communications, for-profit advertising, promotional videos, and narrative or documentary features with studio backing and distribution already in place.
- Independent–I do my best to provide services that are affordable to independent filmmakers and non-profit productions, so I provide a discount if your project fits into this category. Projects that are elegible for my "independent" rate include narrative and documentary shorts; non-profit promotionals, self-financed or independently produced narrative and documentary films with no current distribution; and other programs that are intended for the festival circuit.
- Student–I give a special break to all student films, either short or long form. To qualify, you must be prepared to show current proof of enrollment.
Program Type
The nature of the program; narrative, documentary, promotional (including corporate communications, infomertials and music videos), series, or spots (if you want a quote for a spot, be sure to set the Run Time to seconds).
Please note–due to the differing nature of spots and series, these types of programs are quoted differently then narrative, documentary, and promotional programs. These differences are reflected in the quote you receive.
Degree of Corrections Needed
You have three options that directly affect the schedule (and budget) of the project, as well as the type of work that will be done during the color correction session:
- Detailed–This is the default option, and reflects a typical color correction job. Every shot in your program is balanced, legalized, and creatively graded; secondaries, vignettes, and other effects are used as needed throughout the program to both creative and corrective effect.
- Fast–For programs that simply need less work, are on a rushed deadline, or have a limited budget. Each shot is legalized and balanced; creative grading is limited to primary color correction where needed. Secondaries and vignettes are used sparingly as necessary.
- Very Detailed–For programs that have the time and budget for more aggressive styling. Careful attention is given to each shot, with extra time spent honing your program's unique look. This includes as many levels of secondary color correction, user-defined vignettes, and other custom effects as are needed. This may even include additional compositing and paint work in Shake for digital cleanup and creative effects.
Deadline
The day you need the project finished. Please provide the month and day (in any format) so I can make sure I'm available when you need me.
